Jamaica’s 2017 Clinical Management of HIV Disease are a set of guidelines for medical practitioners providing up to date information on HIV treatment and care to which all People Living with HIV (PLHIV) are entitled. The specific aims of these guidelines are to improve quality of care in the Improve the quality of care in the diagnosis and management of PLHIV, with the aim to standardize treatment practices; Improve the quality of life among PLHIV; reduce the economic burden of HIV infection by preventing opportunistic infections, and hence reducing the impact of chronic diseases and inappropriate diagnostic tests and treatment; and reduce the rate of new cases of HIV by implementing the UNAIDS 90-90-90 framework, the expanded prevention technologies and ‘Test and Treat’ strategies.
